Things to do here

The top-rated tours and activities here — all with instant confirmation and free cancellation on most bookings.

Lang Co has four main activities: the Hai Van Pass road ride, the beach, Bach Ma National Park, and eating lagoon seafood. Two days covers everything well.

Hai Van Pass Motorbike Ride

The defining activity of this region. The old pass road climbs from Lang Co northward to the 496m summit and descends into Da Nang, or is approached from Da Nang heading north.

From Lang Co: Ride north out of town, the road begins climbing immediately after the tunnel entrance (don’t take the tunnel — take the old pass road sign). The climb takes 30–40 minutes with views expanding as you ascend. The summit lookout is marked with a former American-era bunker and provides 360-degree views of the coast. Continue to Da Nang (30km descent) or return to Lang Co.

From Da Nang: The southern approach is equally good — views of My Khe Beach and the city below as you climb.

Motorbike requirement: The pass is paved and in good condition. An automatic scooter handles it without difficulty.

Lang Co Beach

The ocean-side beach of the peninsula. Wide, clean, and largely uncrowded outside Vietnamese holiday weekends. The water is calmer here than at the open Pacific beaches further south.

Good for swimming April–October. The beach stretches 10km — walk south for the most secluded sections.

Lang Co Lagoon

The lagoon behind the peninsula is a large brackish water body with mangroves, fishing boats, and an active prawn and mussel farming community. The view from the beach road looking west toward the Hai Van mountains and the lagoon in the foreground is one of the best in central Vietnam.

Lagoon boat trips: Local fishermen offer boat trips on the lagoon — viewing the aquaculture operations, mangroves, and bird life. Informal arrangement at the fishing harbour: ₫100,000–200,000 ($4–8) per boat for an hour.

Lagoon seafood restaurants: The seafood restaurants on the lagoon road serve the freshest catch from the local fishermen. Grilled prawns, steamed clams, whole fish — at significantly lower prices than Da Nang’s beachfront restaurants.

Bach Ma National Park

The forested mountain rising directly above Lang Co. A full day is needed for the park — drive or motorbike the summit road (25km, 45 minutes), then hike the waterfall trails.

See the dedicated Bach Ma National Park page for the full details.

Elephant Springs (Suoi Voi)

A waterfall and natural swimming pool in the foothills above Lang Co. Popular with local families and Vietnamese domestic visitors. Cool freshwater swimming in a forested setting. ₫20,000 ($0.80) entry. 10km from town by road.
