The 2026 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - one of Southeast Asia’s largest annual spectacles - reaches its grand finale this Saturday, 11 July. This year’s theme is “Da Nang – United Horizons”, and the championship night will close out six weeks of competition that began on 7 June.

Ten teams from nine countries have performed along the Han River through the competition period. The grand finale determines the winner from the remaining finalists, with fireworks launched from two bridges simultaneously and choreographed to a live soundtrack.

What to Expect on Saturday

Displays begin at 8pm Vietnam time (GMT+7) and run for approximately 30 minutes. Viewing positions line both banks of the Han River; the best free spots on the west bank fill from 5pm. Grandstand tickets for the Han River Port viewing area - which includes seating and unobstructed views - have been on sale through the festival’s official channels.

Da Nang effectively becomes one large outdoor event on competition nights. Restaurants along Bach Dang Street sell out quickly; arriving early and claiming a riverside spot with food and drinks is standard practice for locals and regulars.

Getting There and Around

Da Nang International Airport connects to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul, and domestic hubs including Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Most visitors to the festival base themselves in Da Nang city, though Hoi An is just 30km south and makes an excellent combination destination - many visitors day-trip from Hoi An for the fireworks and return the same night.

Grab and Be services operate throughout the night; taxis from the river area back to central Da Nang hotels are plentiful immediately after the finale but can take 20–30 minutes to clear the volume of crowds.

Beyond the Finale

If Saturday is your only available night, it’s the right one to pick - the championship night is the highest-production show of the series. But the festival period as a whole has turned Da Nang into Vietnam’s flagship annual event, drawing domestic and international visitors specifically around the competition dates.
