Things to do here

The top-rated tours and activities here — all with instant confirmation and free cancellation on most bookings.

Quy Nhon’s activities span coastal scenery, Cham archaeological sites, and fishing villages. The city is compact enough that most can be covered by motorbike in 2–3 days.

Quy Nhon Beach

The city’s central beach — 2km of sand with hotels on one side and the bay on the other. Swimmable April–October. Less crowded than equivalent beaches in Da Nang. The southern end of the beach near the Ghenh Rang hill area is the best section.

Ghenh Rang (Stone Cemetery): A rocky headland at the south end of Quy Nhon Beach. The coastal walk through the eroded rock formations, with the beach on one side and the open sea on the other, is the best walk in the city. Free access.

Eo Gio (Wind Pass)

15km north of the city, Eo Gio is a coastal rock formation where the karst cliffs have been wind-carved into channels, overhangs, and sea stacks above a clear bay. The light and the sea views from the cliff top are outstanding.

Getting there: Motorbike hire (₫150,000–200,000 / $6–8 per day). The road from the city is paved. 30 minutes by motorbike.

Entry: ₫30,000 ($1.20).

Bai Xep Fishing Village

A traditional fishing village 10km south of the city on a bay with a small beach. The village still operates traditional wooden fishing boats (round basket boats and conventional hulls). The beach in front of the village is calm and clean.

Several guesthouses have opened in Bai Xep and it has become a low-key alternative base to the city for travellers who want a quieter beach setting. The atmosphere is a fishing village first, tourist destination second.

Cham Towers in Binh Dinh Province

Twin Towers (Thap Doi): Two 12th–13th century Cham towers on the edge of Quy Nhon city. The better-maintained and more easily accessible of the Binh Dinh Cham sites. Free entry.

Banh It Towers: 20km north of the city. A cluster of four Cham towers on a hillside in a more dramatic landscape setting. The towers date from the 11th–12th centuries and include one of the largest surviving Cham towers in central Vietnam. ₫20,000 ($0.80) entry.

Silver Mountain Towers (Thap Cu Huynh): A more remote site. Worth visiting for those with a specific Cham interest.

Long Khanh Pagoda

The city’s main Buddhist pagoda, on Tran Cao Van Street. Houses a large bronze Buddha statue and is an active place of worship. The pagoda grounds are quiet and well-maintained. Free entry.

Dam Thi Nai Lagoon

A large tidal lagoon north of the city with mangroves, bird life, and fishing communities. Boat trips on the lagoon: ₫100,000–200,000 ($4–8). A peaceful half-day activity.
